TREATMENT

Fillings (inc. White Fillings)

Fillings are used to replace natural tooth structure when it becomes fractured, broken or damaged by tooth decay.

Wanneroo Dental Centre is an amalgam free clinic – amalgam is a silver-coloured filling material that can make teeth appear darker and grey in colour. Therefore, to restore your teeth, we exclusively use the finest quality composite resin or glass-ionomer (white filling) materials to get a very beautiful finish.

We match the filling colour to your tooth, making it practically undetectable!

White Fillings

White fillings also known as “composite resin” restorations are tooth-coloured fillings. These are commonly used to restore cavities, broken teeth and/or to replace silver (amalgam) fillings.

Composite fillings are bonded directly to healthy tooth structure. The filling is then polished to obtain a natural appearance of enamel gloss.

White filling made of “composite resin” support the remaining tooth, help to prevent breakage as well as insulate the tooth from excessive temperature changes.

Composite resin comes in a range of tooth-coloured shades that can be matched to the shade of your natural teeth. They are far more pleasing in appearance than silver amalgam fillings.

Depending on the extent of a cavity or broken tooth, your tooth may be suitable for a composite restoration which is a direct and relatively straightforward option. However, a badly broken down tooth may need additional support for the remaining tooth structure such as a crown or an inlay/onlay
