Practice Owner

Dr Bev Hirst

I am originally from West Yorkshire and qualified with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Newcastle, UK in 2005. In 2008 I obtained membership to the Royal College of Surgeons, and in 2013 I furthered my knowledge for more advanced cases with a yearlong Advanced Restorative Dentistry Diploma. I moved to WA in 2013 and have practiced in Kalgoorlie, Perth Hills and the Northern Suburbs. Since the beginning of 2018 I became a partner in Wanneroo Dental Centre, and early 2022 become sole practice owner. I particularly enjoy treating children, teenagers and people who ‘hate dentists’ (it usually doesn’t take very long to change this!) I am keen to help people prevent the need for dental treatment, and I will always endeavour to make sure that you understand the treatment that is necessary. In my free time I enjoy Body Combat, walking my miniature schnauzer, antique and record fairs, seeing Live music, and I DJ at a Britpop/indie night.

Dentist

Dr Carmen Leong

I am originally from the beautiful tropical country Malaysia. I moved to Perth and pursued my studies at the University of Western Australia and graduated with honours in 2013. Upon graduation, I relocated to regional Bunbury where I experienced both public and private dental practice for a couple of years. In 2016, I moved back to Perth and started working in the northern suburbs. I am thrilled to be a part of Wanneroo Dental Centre as I believe our values and principles are aligned to providing individualised and quality care to our patients. I take pride and joy in my attention to detail and managing my patients with utmost respect and a gentle touch. For me, the best part of dentistry is managing and getting to know the person behind the tooth and smile. Apart from work, I cherish spending quality time with my beautiful family and friends. My hobbies are working out, and attempting DIY craft projects such as sewing outfits for myself and my daughter!

Dentist

Dr Meike Stewart

I completed my studies at UWA in 2004. After graduating I moved east, and worked in Bundaberg for the Queensland Health Dept, treating members of the community. It was there I learned good fundamentals in removable prosthetics and extractions, and where I also met my husband who is a dental technician. We moved back to Perth in 2008, and put down roots in northern suburbs. We now have three children, and I’ve spent many years now working privately in the local area, valuing my time at work and at home equally. I consider it a privilege to work in the community close to home. I like to talk patients and get to know them, so that I can tailor treatment to an individual, and Wanneroo Dental Centre really allows me to connect with people. Outside of work I enjoy reading, gardening, spending time with my family and friends, and pottering around my house, or down the beach.

Front Office Coordinator

Ellie

I first began as a dental nurse in 2015 in the Sunshine Coast Qld! In 2019 I moved over to beautiful Western Australia, and worked up north for a few years before I returned to dental and joined the fantastic team here at Wanneroo Dental Centre in April 2021. Today I now work as the Front Office Coordinator, answering your calls and coordinating appointments and treatment plans that best accommodate you and the dentist. My background as a dental nurse, means I am well equip with the knowledge to answer your treatments questions and occasionally hop back into surgery to help assist with the dentist. I enjoy creating a welcoming and warm environment for patients, having a chat, and help keep things running smoothly! In my spare time I don’t have any, as I am also studying nursing at ECU!

Head Nurse

Chanel

In 2015 I became a Dental Nurse here in Western Australia. People are my passion and being able to assist in making patients feel at ease and safe during their visits here puts a smile on my face. My role as Head Nurse is to ensure the smooth running of the clinical aspect of the practice. Alongside this I also ensure anyone joining our team are trained to the same high level in order for us to continue giving our patients optimal care. I am very blessed to be a part of the awesome team at Wanneroo Dental Centre, as when I am not nursing, I am at the front desk chatting up a storm with patients and having a laugh. Outside of work I enjoy fitness, spending time with loved ones and being a cat mum!

Not another one ….Oh yes .… I’m also from Leeds, West Yorkshire! I have been in the wonderful Perth 11 years and originally came for what I intended to be a 6-12 month working holiday but I never looked back! Myself, my husband and our two year old daughter have settled here and we do love to get ‘back home’ as much as we can or have family here, the holidays and quality time with them is so special to us. I have been in the dental industry for 15 years and love all things people and culture so always happy for a chin wag if you see me at reception or buzzing round the practice, say hello and let me know if you would like a proper brew!

I have been a passionate about dental assisting since earning my qualification in Lancashire, UK, back in 2009. In 2014, I embarked on a working holiday in WA and instantly fell in love with the region’s warm weather and breathtaking beaches. Now, after nine incredible years, I find myself back here, continuing to pursue my love for dentistry with over a decade of experience under my belt. My calm and caring nature allows me to genuinely connect with patients, and I am thrilled to be part of your dental journey here at Wanneroo Dental Centre. Beyond dentistry, I cherish spending time outdoors with my dog, staying fit, indulging in hiking adventures, and paddle boarding!
